Teaching is a way good , infrastructure awesome , Kind professors always understand problems and guide properly but student advisors do not respond at time and never willing to work but say we have busy schedule
Currently in the construction engineering program and it's amazing, the professors are nice and the campus has a lot of nice facilities. I wish the gym's hours were better but besides that I have no complaints.
Please read before enrolling into any program that requires placements (like nursing for example). Niagara college is horrendous for their placements and you literally need to quit your job and free up all of your time to do placements here. Under the same breath the school still expects you to pay money to go there and pay for your transportation to get to placement everyday for 40 hrs a week.
Your placements are unpaid and they are also random (so your location and hours are chosen for you). They will place you so far (as far as Grimsby) and expect you to pay transportation like a taxi or uber if they make you work at 5am when buses do not open. They will not switch you or accommodate to your job, transportation or your children. Please be careful going here. Many people in my class have to drop the program 1 month before graduation because they are unable to make it to their very far placement locations because buses do not run at their location. Or they are dropping because they cannot afford the hundreds of dollars in gas or uber to make it to their far placement. Make sure you have a car, no job, no kids and no life before enrolling into Niagara College. Be prepared to drive about 1 hr or 2hrs to your placements as well and spend all the money you have on gas with no job because your hrs in placement could change any time so you cannot even make money to pay for it all. So yeah be careful enrolling here please.
Program is literally available online via a simple Google search. like.. literally if you google a reference, you'll find the entire program with everything online on the first page of results. there has been zero effort to change course material. professors literally just read the textbook to you with nothing added in. they are glorified tutors who cannot expand on the material when asked. I 100% believe some professors are even reading a script. sent a complaint in their system and took 3 weeks for them to even consider addressing it. I'd recommend this if you want to pull a loan and copy and paste for a degree to pass a year or so of time. if you expect a real education, you'd be very very disappointed.
Niagara College have the best student support you’ll ever find. People there never stops to amaze me by how kind, helpful and responsive they are.
Colleges in general are useless unless you go for a trade or something practical. NC makes money from international students who just want to get PR. They expend so much money on stupid things instead of building strong class content and decent facilities. Quality in general is really low, and they pass students based on attendance but performance. NC is a business! BTW 60% of the students are Indian, so be ready to feel like in New Delhi!
Not sure what is going on with Niagara College lately, but I can't get through to the supports that I need or inquiries that pertain to my studies. I seem to get the run-a-round from the Registrars office. More student support is needed in terms of servicing the clientele.
Great campus, super friendly staff,
Never had an issue locking my dirtbike at the racks, I was always respectfully on property and I'm appreciative the staff were okay with it:)
I loved the power motive course, teachers all knew what they were talking about. Lectures were always enjoyable and having a tims in the school really made everything great.
